Meditations on Place
September 2, 2023   -   October 1, 2023

My recent work and paintings are meditations on place. Humans and nature meet in many of them. In the hedge painting, a worker puts order to nature, changes and remakes it with great ingenuity. There are many parallels with the process of painting. The beehives, discovered on a recent stay in California, remind me of monuments or buildings. Tanglewood’s wintry scene was created after a walk in the snow, with tree shadows created by flood lights.
