My recent paintings continue to focus on the interior, detailing the qualities of light as they exist in my home now, but also as they live in my memory. For the former, the time of day and the season are both a central inspiration: my bedroom window at noon in December is entirely different from that same portal as dusk in July. For the latter, I use color to heighten and enhance a dreamlike sense of space, and the feeling of being unmoored from conventional reality.
